Poster 1
This is my first illustration poster. After having a lengthy argument with myself, I decided to create an illustration poster rather than a photo. I know it’s difficult for me to do this, but it was challenging and will be very helpful for future projects. So, I started with this one. The first step was to create a pattern, as I mentioned in my blog post about Ethiopian clothing, which is all about cotton and pattern. I used brown for her skin tone and shade for her face to make her appear more attractive, then The reason I chose to use yellow flowers is that, in Ethiopia, the new year begins in September rather than January because September marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. At that time, yellow flowers begin to bloom to symbolise the new beginning of hope and the start of the new year.

This is my second poster. I started by drawing the woman from the reference image using a mouse. I decided to use a very limited colour scheme in this design, using brown for the skin tone and green for the land’s fertility and richness. It is also connected to harmony and hope. The colour yellow stands for peace and religious freedom. The colour red represents the blood spilled by Ethiopians who fought for their independence and to defend their nation It also stands for power, while yellow is frequently associated with the country’s bright future,Furthermore, I include the cross pattern in her chest as I write on my logo post because Ethiopian clothing has a long history of using crosses as patterns, especially because of the nation’s strong Christian ties. Even so, I created three shapes in the background using the colours of the Ethiopian flag, utilising the pattern that is well-known for using this colour in cloth in the Ethiopian cloth trend.

I’ve adopted a unique strategy in this ground-breaking poster, painstakingly created for maximum effect in the field of image-based promotions and social media advertising. With its heavy use of green, yellow, and red—symbolic of the country’s flag and a tribute to its rich cultural heritage—the colour scheme pays homage to Ethiopia.then I used my white-colored logo on top, and I added a title and body text below the image. I chose this style of approach for this design because I wanted to demonstrate my versatility with the design term and how my logo works on both illustration and image posters.
